How do I access New York Times (NYtimes.com) articles for free online?

To set up your NYTimes.com account to access free articles, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the library’s Database A-Z page and select the New York Times Online link.
  2. If off-campus, sign in to the Single Sign On page using your employee credentials (if student: username@stu.evc.edu email and password).
  3. If you do not have an account with NYT, select “Create Account”. Otherwise, select “Log in here” to sign in to your account. Create Account Page
  4. Type in your evc.edu email address in the “Email Address” box and select Continue.Log in or create account by typing email

  5. Create a password for your new account in the password box.          Create password.

  6. Select your role at EVC. For students include your graduation year and alternate email address. Then select Sign Up.Select your role on campus: student, faculty/staff, other/non-academic

  7. You will receive a confirmation of your NYT account. Select “Get Started”.Confirmation page

  8. Once on the NYTimes.com page, select the account icon in the right hand corner and login if you are not already logged in.
